Rumpelstiltskin is a re-telling of the ages old German fairy tale of the same name. Sometime in the 1400s, Rumpelstiltskin steals the child of a local villager and is chased to the edge of a cliff by an angry mob. He seems untouchable until the old town witch calls out his name, dropping the little imp to his knees. He is then burned and his soul imprisoned in a Jade statue for 1,000 years. Cut to modern-day Los Angeles where Shelley Stewart (Kim Johnston Ulrich), a recent widow and new mother, finds a grotesque little figurine at an antique shop. The shop-keeper tries to convince the grieving mom not to buy the talisman, but she persists, and unknowingly takes the monster home. Little does she know that Rumpelstiltskin has served his time and is ready to once again reign terror on the world. His hunger for the flesh of infants puts her young son in grave danger. Fighting for the life of her child, Shelley must find the strength to defeat the demon and save the only link she has to her departed husband.moreless
