Runaway Train is the 1985 action adventure drama from action specialist Andrey Konchalovski (Tango and Cash). In a remote Alaskan prison, tough convict Oscar 'Manny' Manheim (Jon Voight, Deliverance, Midnight Cowboy, Mission: Impossible, Transformers, Heat, Anaconda, Ali) and fellow inmate Buck (Eric Roberts, Star 80, The Dark Knight, Best of the Best) make a daring breakout. They hop aboard a nearby freight train, and they head full-steam for freedom, but they don't realize the engineer dies of a heart attack, and they find themselves trapped with no brakes. There is quite a bit of bickering before they eventually a third passenger, railroad worker Sara (Rebecca De Mornay, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle) also desperate to stop the train and survive. In the end, the nasty Warden Ranken (John P. Ryan) manages to get on the train, Manny unhooks the carriages, and he and the Warden speed away never to be seen again.
