Russian Roulette is a 1975 action adventure about an assassination attempt on a Russian premier during the Cold War. Corporal Timothy Shaver (George Segal) has been given one chance to redeem his career with the Royal Canadian Mounted Police after being suspended for punching his superior, Inspector McDermott (Peter Donat). Russian Premier Alexei Kosygin will be making an official visit to Vancouver. Commander Petapiece (Denholm Elliott) wants Shaver to isolate Rudolph Henke (Val Avery), a ''migr'' from Russia that the KGB suspects of planning an assassination. Shaver needs to kidnap or otherwise keep Henke off the streets until the Premier departs. If he succeeds, he can return to the force. Unfortunately, Henke proves impossible to find. Shaver gets some inside information from his girlfriend, Bogna (Cristina Raines), who happens to work in the police records division. Henke is not the assassin, but there is another plot involving a Colonel Vostik (Bo Brundin) of the KGB, who wants to reignite the fading Cold War. Shaver and Bogna will have to endure their own kidnapping, mislead his police bosses and outwit a Detroit hit man in order to keep international peace.moreless
