Saboteur is a 1942 suspense thriller set during World War II. Barry Kane (Robert Cummings) works at an aircraft assembly plant with his friend Ken Mason (Virgil Summers). When Ken dies in a suspicious fire at the plant, Barry becomes the prime suspect because the fire extinguisher he used to put out the fire was actually filled with gasoline. He tells the authorities that a man named Fry (Norman Lloyd) handed him the fire extinguisher, but no one has ever heard of the guy. Fearing he has been set up, Barry flees from the authorities and decides to investigate on his own. Using an address he got from an envelope in Fry's possession, he meets a ranch owner named Charles Tobin (Otto Kruger). Tobin initially seems sympathetic but secretly calls the authorities and they arrest and handcuff Barry. Barry is able to escape, still handcuffed, and he stumbles to the house of a blind man. There he meets the blind man's beautiful daughter, Pat Martin (Pricilla Lane). Can Barry convince Pat that he is innocent and will we she help him find who is behind this plot? Saboteur is directed by Alfred Hitchcock from a screenplay by Peter Viertel, Joan Harrison and Dorothy Parker.
