Saddle Pals is a 1947 Western directed by Leslie Selander and starring Gene Autry, Champion Jr., Lynne Roberts and Sterling Holloway. Gene Autry finds himself drawn into a property settlement scheme involving his old friend, Waldo T. Brooks (Sterling Holloway), and a group of swindlers. Autry bites off more than he can chew when he confronts Brooks about lowering the rents of the valley tenants. After Brooks gets cold feet regarding the situation, he skips town and gives Autry power of attorney over his company. After a bit of digging, Autry soon finds that the company is on the verge of bankruptcy and needs $50,000 to keep it afloat. He also finds that the swindlers are up to no good and would like nothing better than to see the business to fail. If Autry doesn't find a way to raise the funds, not only does he stand to lose Brooks' company but everything he's ever worked for.
