Safe At Home! is a 1962 dramatic family comedy directed by Walter Doniger. In the film, Hutch Lawton (Bryan Russell) has just moved from New York to Florida with his widowed father, Ken (Don Collier). When Hutch, who loves little league baseball, is having a hard time fitting in at his new school, he begins to exaggerate about his life in New York to impress his peers. He specifically brags about his father's relationship with Mickey Mantle and Roger Maris, New York Yankee superstars, which does not exist. His plan works and his friends are impressed, but soon they want Hutch to prove his father's friendships. Hutch stalls for as long as he can, but his exaggerations soon catch up with him, and he knows he is either going to have to prove something to them, or they will write him off as a liar. New York Yankees Whitey Ford and Ralph Houk also make cameo appearances in the film.
