Saint Joan is a 1957 English-American film, produced by Wheel Productions. The film was adapted from the successful play of the same name, which was written by George Bernard Shaw. Saint Joan was directed by Otto Preminger and the screenplay was written by Graham Greene. Starring Jean Seberg, Richard Widmark, Barry Jones, Richard Todd, Anton Walbrook and Francis De Wolff, Saint Joan portrays the story of the life of Joan of Arc. After she has prophetic visions of Saints Catherine and Margaret telling her that she will lead the French army against the British, Joan of Arc (Jean Seberg), a young peasant girl, travels to meet The Dauphin King of France (Richard Widmark) at his palace. While she is there she realises The King is cowardly and does not want to fight and he appoints her as head of the French Army.
