Saints and Soldiers is a 2004 historical drama that takes place during World War II, directed by Ryan Little and starring Corbin Allred, Alexander Niver, Kirby Heyborne, and Lawrence Bagby in a story about a small group of American troops who join forces with a British pilot in possession of valuable intelligence and attempt to escape German detection while behind enemy lines. Allred plays Deacon, an American soldier suffering from post-traumatic shock disorder. Deacon and Gould (Niver) are survivors of the Malmedy massacre, a German-committed war crime during which 84 American prisoners-of-war were brutally executed. After escaping from their captors, Deacon and Gould decide to lay low until the Allied forces advance into the territory and rescue them. However, plans change when the survivors encounter British Flight Sergeant Obern Winley (Heyborne), whose plane was shot down while he was in route to deliver important intelligence to the Allied commanders. Seeing no other options, the brave soldiers must sneak across twenty miles of German-controlled territory and deliver the intelligence.moreless
