Salome Where She Danced is a 1945 camp classic that launched the career of Yvonne De Carlo. Anna Marie (Yvonne De Carlo) is a ballerina in the Royal Ballet of Austria forced to flee her country during the Austrian-Prussian War. Through the whims of fate, she makes her way to America, stranded in a wild, western town in Arizona. Under the stage name Salome, she makes a living off of her alluring dance, the Dance of the Seven Veils, which charms all thoughts of violence out from the hearts of hardened criminals. When she leaves, the thankful folk rename the town in her honor: "Salome, Where She Danced." She heads on to San Francisco, falls in love with a Confederate bandit, and has many strange adventures along the way. Salome moves through life a romantic heroine with the power to heal men's troubled souls with her unique talent for song and dance.
