Santa Fe is the story of the homecoming of cop Paul Thomas (Gary Cole) to Santa Fe, New Mexico. He had been in Wyoming where he was the sole survivor of a cult's mass suicide. When he arrives back in New Mexico, he finds his wife, Leah (Sheila Kelly), and daughter, Crystal (Tina Majorino), have fallen under the tutelage of a charismatic new age philosopher, Eleanor Braddock (Lolita Davidovich). To make matters worse, Leah is sleeping with Dr. Dan Yates, a local chiropractor. Given his experience in Wyoming and his wife's affair, Paul is very concerned for the fate of his family. To save them, he attempts to infiltrate Braddock's followers. However, Paul finds himself swayed by the beautiful woman's ideas. Is he a true believer or an undercover cop looking to break up a dangerous cult? Santa Fe is a fascinating exploration of attraction, belief, and love in the American southwest.
