Santa Fe is a western about the adventures of four Virginia brothers after the Civil War. Confederate soldier Brit Canfield (Randolph Scott) comes home from the war to see his family's Virginia plantation destroyed. His brothers Terry (Jerome Courtland), Tom (Peter M. Thompson) and Clint (John Archer) are angry about the defeat of the South, and have a strong hatred for the North. With nothing left of their lives in the South, Brit and his brothers head west. The building of the Santa Fe railroad offers plenty of jobs for anyone interested. Brit takes a job on the railroad and urges his brothers to do the same. The brothers refuse because of their anger toward the Yankee railroad company. Brit turns out to be very skilled in railroad building. He is soon promoted to second in command. Meanwhile, his brothers join an outlaw gang determined to stop construction of the railroad and Brit finds himself in charge of capturing the outlaws.moreless
