Saturday Night Live (SNL) - The Best of Amy Poehler is a laugh riot that follows the rise of a comedic star, TV actress, and close friend of Tina Fey. Poehler carried the show for over seven seasons, and this film captures the highlights of her reign. She first claimed national attention as Fey's sidekick on Weekend Update, with a bratty and sarcastic style of political comedy that appeals to jaded underdogs. Later Seth Meyers took Fey's place and brought a new chemistry to the anchor sketch in the SNL schedule. Then Poehler started to distinguish herself in sketch comedy. In this collection she shows us her brittle, unemotional rendition of Hillary Clinton which she played through the years of scandal. She does Nancy Grace, Madonna, Kelly Ripa, and Dakota Fanning. There are also a few of her own home-style creations that became recurring favorites. She plays Amber, the mouthy, one-legged woman, and she's half of the Needlers, a couple that creates a scene at every gathering. Poehler is the queen of comedy, and this collection is some of her best.moreless
