Sau Crore is a 1991 Indian film about a high-profile murder that angers the common people, and the police detective who must solve the crime before the situation ignites into violence. A tennis player named Raj (Raman Kapoor) is murdered and the evidence points toward Somnath (Naseeruddin Shah), a politician who is friends with Raj's wife, Kamlesh (Fatima Sheikh). Kamlesh witnessed the murder but is so troubled by it that she will not speak. The murder angers the common people, who see the murder as a sign of the corrupt relationship between the police and political establishment. Detective Kumar (Dev Anand) must quickly unravel all the twists and turns of the case before the city descends into riots and looting. Political intrigue abounds as Kumar sniffs out each lead, from the unhappy wife to the rival lover. Before he is done, Kumar will face opponents so powerful they could crush him with a snap of their fingers.
