Savannah Smiles is a 1982 comedy that portrays the story of an American political family who neglects to balance the world of politics with their family life. Richard Driscoll (Chris Robinson) launches a campaign for the United States Senate but puts the rest of his life on hold. Ultimately, the Driscoll family ignores their daughter to such an extent that she decides to run away from home. Savannah (Bridgette Anderson) embarks on an epic adventure as she seeks the love and attention she deserves. She is befriended by a pair of convicts who become closer to her than her family was. The adventure becomes high stakes when the convicts realize there is a $100,000 reward out for the safe return of Savannah. The convicts balance their new friendship with Savannah against their greed for a big pay-day. Meanwhile, Mr. Driscoll, Savannah's father, watches on helplessly as he is cut out of the loop.
