PG-13
Saved! is a 2004 teen comedy directed and written by Brian Dannelly. At American Eagle Christian High School, Mary Cummings (Jena Malone) is the quintessential 'good girl.' She has a chaste relationship with her boyfriend, and she is a member of a religious, all-girl singing group known as the Christian Jewels. But when her boyfriend Dean (Chad Faust) confides that he is actually homosexual, her perfect world is turned upside down. Believing Jesus has told her to cure Dean of his sinful nature, Mary decides that the only way to turn him straight is to have sex with him. After doing the deed, Mary is sure that Dean no longer has homosexual fantasies, so she is shocked one day to discover that his parents found gay erotica underneath his bed. After Dean's father ships him off to a religious rehabilitation center called Mercy House, Mary discovers that she is pregnant and loses her faith in Jesus. When Mary's religious zealot friend Hilary Faye (Mandy Moore) finds out about Mary's situation, she decides to restore Mary's faith -- by any means necessary.moreless
