Saving Sarah Cain is a 2007 film based on the novel The Redemption of Sarah Cain by Beverly Lewis. Sarah Cain (Lisa Pepper) is a columnist for the Portland Times in Portland, Oregon. When her boss tells her that her daily column has been rejected she goes to lunch with boyfriend Bryan (Tom Tate) to take her mind off of work. When she gets a call saying that her older sister has just died of heart failure, Sarah returns to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania where she lived. Her sister was Amish, and Sarah has now been appointed the legal guardian of her five children. She then brings them back to Portland, where her column about raising five Amish children becomes a big success. When the kids find out about the column, however, they become upset with Sarah and are then returned back to Pennsylvania. Sarah then has to make a decision about whether to stay with the children in Amish country or return to her old life in Portland. Also starring Elliott Gould, Danielle Chuchran, Abigail Mason, and Jennifer O'Dell, Saving Sarah Cain was directed by Michael Landon, Jr.moreless
