Saving Silverman is a 2001 comedy directed by Dennis Dugan. Neil Diamond fanatics and best friends Darren Silverman (Jason Biggs), Wayne LeFessier (Steve Zahn) and J.D. McNugent (Jack Black) are tight-knit members in a band called "Diamonds in the Rough." Their friendship is suddenly in jeopardy when Darren meets Judith Fessbeggler (Amanda Peet), a controlling psychologist who becomes his new girlfriend. Judith demands that Darren dump his friends and quit the band if he wants to be with her, and Darren, who is smitten by the lovely woman, agrees. Wayne and J.D. want to free Darren from Judith's control, so they decide to haphazardly kidnap Judith and reunite him with Sandy Perkus (Amanda Detmer), his high school girlfriend. As crafty Judith does everything in her power to get free, will dimwitted Wayne and J.D. be able to keep her locked up long enough for Darren and Sandy to rekindle their romance?
