Rating:

Saw V is a 2008 American horror film directed by David Hackl and starring Scott Patterson, Costas Mandylor, and Tobin Bell. The fourth sequel to the hit 2004 film, the film follows the legacy of the mastermind serial killer Jigsaw. While Jigsaw might be dead, he has left behind numerous traps and deadly situations to keep his legacy alive. Mark Hoffman (Mandylor) returns in the film as the detective dedicated to solving the crimes of Jigsaw. Hoffman, however, is more involved in the murders than we are originally led to believe. As Hoffman searches through files regarding Jigsaw's murders, the film flashes back to an early experiment of Jigsaw's that left more corpses than even the serial killer originally intended. Bloodier and more gruesome than the previous Saw Films, Saw V features some of Jigsaw's most ingenious death-traps. Saw V received the worst reviews of any of the films in the Saw franchise and was the least successful financially.

The production values have become so horror-movie shoddy that Saw V has more in common with kitsch like "Friday the 13th Part V" than the original "Saw."
