Movie Summary

Kevin Greutert
Released:
2009
Rating:

Saw VI is the sixth installment of a six part horror series originated by James Wan and Leigh Whannell. Saw VI, however, was written by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. Put simply, Saw is not meant for those with a weak stomach. The Saw series is known for its frivolous use of gore. Saw VI picks up where Saw V left off. John Jigsaw's legacy still lives through his successor, a man named Mark Hoffman (Costas Mandylor). Hoffman will carry out John Jigsaw's sick and twisted plot as though it were his purpose in life. However, Hoffman has a new target on his list - an insurance agent by the name of William Easton (Peter Outerbridge). Meanwhile, the FBI is following agent Peter Strahm as they suspect him of being involved in Jigsaw's scheme somehow. Saw VI was Kevin Greutert's directorial debut. Kevin served as an editor on the previous Saw films. Be sure to check out Saw VI, just make sure you don't eat before watching!moreless

Metacritic Score

  • 60

    The New York Times

Warm feelings are inspired by the reappearance of old friends, even those who had their faces ripped off or their intestines ejected several films ago.

  • 40

    Variety

A film so frighteningly familiar it could well be called "Saw It Already."

  • 0

    Los Angeles Times

Terrible acting, zero suspense, laughable logic and the promise of another one next year. How can we get this policy canceled?
