Scalpers is a 2000 drama directed by Adam Roden. In this film, Joey Grey (Adam Roden) needs to make some fast cash so he can financially contribute to his family, which is in the midst of a tragedy. His need for cash leads him to illegal ticket trafficking, also known as scalping. At first Joey is very successful in his scalping endeavor and is able to help his family. He quickly makes friends with established local scalpers and finds a ticket hook-up and a favorite spot to sell his product. Then a local thug, Freddy (Robert Huculak), decides he wants to take over Joey and his scalper friends turfs, cutting them out completely. At first the group of friends don't take Freddy seriously, when they realize he is dead serious they resist the take over and the situation escalates violently. Soon, Joey realizes if he wants to keep his turf and possibly his life he must outsmart the thugs.
