Scarecrow is a 1973 drama directed by Jerry Schatzberg and written by Garry Michael White. This film examines the unlikely friendship between two drifters and the adventures they incur. Max Millan (Gene Hackman) is an ex-con with a short temper who has drifted for years. Francis Lionel 'Lion' Delbuchi (Al Pacino) is a homeless ex-sailor who is very immature. The two meet up during their adventures living on the streets and dream of opening a car wash in Pittsburgh. The men agree to head to Pittsburgh, where Lion's money is, but they have to make one stop first. Lion has a wife, Annie (Penelope Allen), and an unborn child in Detroit. Lion has a lot of things he needs to make up for and desperately wants to see his child. The men travel to Detroit, but soon run into trouble. Will these two men ever make it to Pittsburgh and open their car wash, or will they fail before they get there?moreless
