Scarecrows is a 1988 horror thriller beginning with a daring five-man heist against Camp Pendleton in which millions of dollars and two hostages are taken. On a hijacked flight to Mexico one of the thieves, Bert (B.J. Turner), parachutes away in an act of betrayal, taking the stolen money out the door as he falls. The remaining robbers give chase as Bert desperately seeks the money lost somewhere amidst huge cornfields populated with strange and menacing scarecrows. As his former comrades hunt him through the dense fields, Bert slowly realizes other menaces stalk through the rows of corn, supernatural and capable of possessing the scarecrows with malevolent and horrific intent. Before long, the robbers find themselves hunted and slaughtered by these strange sentinels in horrific rituals with unknown purpose. As night passes, blood will spill, secrets will be unearthed, and the remaining men will be fortunate to survive the supernatural onslaught of scarecrows.
