Scooby-Doo is a 2002 comedy film based on the popular animated series of the same name. The film stars Freddie Prinze, Jr. as Fred, Sarah Michelle Gellar as Daphne, Linda Cardellini as Velma, and Matthew Lillard as Shaggy. It opens with the familiar Mystery Machine gang solving a case that gives them national exposure. The stardom leads to infighting and jealousy among the friends and leads them to split up. Years later, they are each invited to a spooky amusement park on a remote island and are not pleased to be reunited. An island guide explains that there may be demons in the amusement park due to the land not being properly respected. Demons eventually kidnap part of the gang and the rest must come up with a plan to save them. The kidnapped part of the gang finds out that the demons will rule the Earth if they can absorb a pure soul. That pure soul is none other than Scooby-Doo. The gang must then find a way to defeat the evil demons and figure out who is behind this whole spooky scheme.moreless
