PG-13
Scoop is a film from writer/director Woody Allen, which combines elements of romance, comedy, and mystery together in one hilarious thriller. Sondra Pransky (Scarlett Johansson), is an American journalism student who is vacationing in London. While in the Big Smoke, Sondra encounters the ghost of an investigative reporter who tells her of a powerful businessman named Peter Lyman (Hugh Jackman). According to the ghost, Lyman may be the serial killer known as the Tarot Card Killer, his name owing to his signature trait of leaving a tarot card on the bodies of his victims. Sondra decides to investigate Lyman, while dating him under the pseudonym of "Jade." Once the actual Tarot Card Killer is arrested, however, Sondra thinks the danger to be over and reveals her true identity to Lyman. Lyman seems unfazed by the revelation, and tells her he'd like to continue their relationship. What follows is a tangled web of deception and mystery, as Sondra discovers that Lyman is more mysterious than she ever could have imagined.moreless
