Scorpion Spring is a 1996 crime thriller written and directed by Brian Cox. Two strangers meet by chance and stumble into a brutal fight for their survival. Denis Brabant (Alfred Molina) is a lone French traveler hitchhiking through the US/Mexican border region after being abandoned by his lover. Zac Cross (Patrick McGaw) is also driving alone through the desert. Zac picks up Alfred and the two agree that Zac will drive Alfred wherever he needs provided that Alfred pay the way. Two two men quickly develop a friendship and embark on a couple of lighthearted adventures. However, things take a dark turn when the duo picks up a young and beautiful Mexican girl named Nadia (Angel Aviles). It quickly becomes clear that Nadia is not the innocent homeward bound immigrant she claims to be. Soon Alfred and Zac become captives and are pulled into a chaotic and violent world of illegal immigration and drug smuggling.
