Seance is a 2008 psychological thriller directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa and based on a novel by Mark McShane. In the film, Katsuhiko (Koji Yakusho) is a polite sound technician, who is married to Junco (Jun Fubuki), a clairoyvant. Junco is slowly becoming more aware of her supernatural powers and curious to see where this ability will lead her in her future. She is given an opportunity to test her abilities when a young psychology graduate, Hayakawa (Teuyoshi Kusanagi), invites her to participate in a study he is doing. Hayakawa is impressed with her abilities. When a girl goes missing, Hayakawa urges the police investigating to use Junco's abilities to help find the child. The cops accept Junco's help and she begins to unlock pieces of the puzzle. Katsuhiko is coincidentally brought into the investigation and the situation becomes very complex. Can Junco help the police find the child before it is too late, or will her involvement put the child in more danger?
