1999

Brooks Willings, an American archaeologist, leads an expedition in search of a mysterious pre-Columbian relic, near Jucaitambo, a tiny village in the Andes. Brenda, his wife, has come from New York to meet with him to discuss sending their daughter Diana away to boarding school. The timing could not be worse; the expedition is proving a failure, the locals blame Willings for their misfortune, their landlord wants them out, the university that bankrolls the project cuts the funding and Brenda wants to leave him. From the shadows, two characters, the good and wise Hombre Grande and his arch-enemy Lazaro, the evil sorcerer, pull the strings of the game and fight for the mischievous Diana's cooperation. Adventures and humor abound until Diana finally realizes, with the help of Hombre Grande, that the artifact her father is searching for has magical powers and only she can find it.
