Sensation Hunters, released in 1934, is a drama starring Arline Judge, Preston S. Foster, Marion Burns and Creighton Hale. Directed by Charles Vidor, this pre-code exploitation film centers on a naive young girl named Dale Jordan (Marion Burns). Dale has signed up to work as a showgirl in order to escape from her unpleasant family situation. On a cruise ship to Panama, where she will be performing, Dale becomes friends with her roommate, Jerry Royal (Arline Judge), who is also a showgirl. At the same time, Dale begins a romance with another shipmate, Tom Baylor (Preston Foster). Upon arrival in Panama City, Tom presents Dale with a bracelet and asks her to be his girl. After Tom, a mining engineer, leaves Panama for a job in the jungle, Dale and Jerry both lose their showgirl jobs and find themselves penniless, desperate to find a way to get back home to America.
