Set it Off, released in 1996, is a dramatic crime action film directed by F. Gary Gray. Starring Jada Pinkett, Vivica A. Fox, Queen Latifah, and Kimberly Elise, the movie tells the story of four best friends who decide to rob banks together. Francesca "Frankie" Sutton (Vivica A. Fox) has been fired from her job as a bank teller after failing to follow proper bank protocal during a robbery. Reluctantly, Frankie gets a job working for a janitorial company. At her new job, Frankie works with her friends Cleopatra "Cleo" Sims (Queen Latifah), Lita "Stoney" Newsome (Jada Pinkett), and Tisean "T.T." Williams (Kimberly Elise). While Frankie is angry that she unfairly lost her banking job, Stoney is devastated because her brother has been wrongfully shot down and killed by the police and T.T. is on the verge of suffering a complete mental breakdown because her son has been taken away from her by social workers.
