Settle the Score is a 1989 crime drama directed by Edwin Sherin and written by Steve Sohmer. On the tough streets of Chicago, Katherine Whately (Jaclyn Smith) serves the public as a police officer. Katherine is not all tough skin, law and guns. Incurring an old soft spot, she decides to return home to her small town for two purposes: To visit her family, and to find the one responsible for her teenage rape that occured two decades earlier. Her brother welcomes her in after their long time apart. However, Kat's father is not soon to give her a hug due to the distance that has grown between them over the years. Dr. Josh Longcrest (Jeffrey DeMunn) seems to be the only one in town that can help Kat uncover the truth behind her rape. Once they discover the trail of a local serial murderer, they start tracking the answers down, one by one.
