Seven Alone is a 1974 family survival saga based on a true story from Honore Morrow's novel "On To Oregon" that captures the extraordinary courage of early pioneers. Like many families in 1840s, the Sager clan decides to try for better luck by making a move out west. Henry Sager (Dewey Martin), wife Naome (Anne Collings) and their seven children join a wagon train for a difficult 2,000 mile journey from Missouri to Oregon. Early on the trek, Henry gets hit with a poisoned arrow and dies, and then their mother passes away from pneumonia. In spite of his reputation of being an immature and lazy, oldest son John (Stewart Petersen) takes charge of the family to make his parents' dream come true. The leaders of the wagon party try to send the Sagers back to Missouri, but with the help of Kit Carson (Dean Smith) and the kind Dr. Dutch (Aldo Ray), the seven Sagers unite to face a potentially perilous journey.moreless
