Seven Chances is a silent film brought to you by Buster Keaton in 1925. Silent as it may be, Keaton's performance - energetic, inventive and quick - is more than enough to keep you engaged. The film centers around Jimmy Shannon (Buster Keaton), a young man entitled to $7 million dollars of his grandfather's will. However, there is one pickle to his blissful future fortune - he must be married by 7 o'clock on his 27th birthday, which just so happens to be coming up! Shannon enlists the help of a friendly lawyer and business partner to help him find a bride before its too late. When his first attempt at winning over the woman of his dreams fails, he turns to the newspaper for other prospects. The film includes performances by T. Roy Barnes, Snitz Edwards, Ruth Dwyer, Frances Raymond, Erwin Connelly and Jules Cowles. Seven Chances is a film which can be appreciated on several levels. A must-see for all those interested in getting acquainted with vaudeville theater and silent film.moreless
