Sgt. Kabukiman, N.Y.P.D. is a 1990 action comedy written by Lloyd Kaufman and co-directed by Michael Herz and Lloyd Kaufman. Sgt. Harry Griswold (Rick Gianasi) is a bumbling New York City policeman. He isn't the best cop in the world but manages to get by until he is possessed by an ancient kabuki master and magically transformed into Sgt. Kabukiman. Now, equipped with heat seeking chopsticks, flying shoes, and flaming parasols, he is able to take on the worst of New York's crime world. However, as Sgt. Kabukiman makes inroads in combating crime, a malevolent group takes notice. It turns out that New York's business and power elites are filled with people belonging to a vast conspiricy bent on returning an ancient evil entity to world power. With the help of his Japanese girl (Susan Byun), and a few of his police colleagues, Sgt. Kabukiman fights to save the world from evil.
