Shadows of Tombstone is a popular, vintage western film released in 1958 and directed by William Witney. Cattle herder Rex Allen (played by himself) answers the call of duty when he learns that a nearby town is being swindled by a corrupt sheriff (Emory Parnell) and a shady saloon owner (Roy Barcroft). Rex captures Manuel Delgado (Ric Roman), one of the sheriff's henchmen, and forces the sheriff to incarcerate the goon. When Rex tries to publicly reveal matters by printing an article in the town paper, its editor, Marge (Jeanne Cooper), refuses out of concern for her personal safety. Not easily discouraged, Rex decides to nip the problem in the bud by running for sheriff himself. Before the elections are held, however, Rex and his sidekick Slim (Slim Pickens) are thrown in jail for a murder they did not commit. Now they must escape jail and find a way to stop the widespread corruption at its source. Shadows of Tombstone will delight anyone who enjoys the nostalgia of classic westerns.moreless
