Shake, Rattle, & Rock is a musical comedy about rock and roll and its power to galvanize youth culture in the '50s. When busybody Eustace Fentwick III (Douglas Dumbrille), socialite Gerogianna Fitzdingle (Margaret Dumont), her husband Horace Fitzdingle (Raymond Hatton), and funeral director Hiram (Percy Helton) set out to ban rock and roll, Garry "Gaz" Nelson (Touch Connors) must find a way to save his American Bandstand-style television show. Gaz teams up with jive-talking Albert "Axe" McAllister (Sterling Holloway) and fleet-footed show regular June Fitzdingle (Lisa Gaye) to defend the music they love. The conflict between square adults and hip youth quickly turns ugly. When June and Axe commit acts of vandalism against the four adults who have instigated public outcry against rock music, the trio must step up and defend their beloved rock and roll not only to their parents, but also to a real judge (Clarence Kolb) in a televised trial. This riotous romp set in small-town America features musical performances from artists Choker Campbell, Big Joe Turner, and Fats Domino.moreless
