Shanghai Kiss is a 2007 love story in which an ocean can't keep a boy and a girl apart. Adelaide Bourbon (Hayden Panettiere) is a sixteen year old girl whose heart is captured by a Chinese actor living in Los Angeles, Liam Liu (Ken Leung). Liam is having trouble landing a role and, already down on his luck, has his car towed. On a bus ride home, he meets Adelaide. She takes an immediate interest in him, but he is self-conscious about the affection of a young girl. He turns down her invitation to prom and wrestles with feelings of guilt over their relationship. To explore his feelings, Liam goes out with Georgia (Kathleen Lancaster), an actress. Conflicted, Liam then discovers that his grandmother has died and left him a home in Shanghai. He returns to China, and there he meets Micki Yang (Kelly Hu). Liam is forced to decide how he fits into each culture and what that means for his relationships with women on either side of the ocean.moreless
