Shark City is a 2009 drama written by Evan Shear and directed by Dan Eisen. The film follows two thirty-something friends, real estate agent Dagen (David J. Phillips) and day-trader Kenny (Jefferson Brown), who hang-out in a club known as Shark City. Hugely popular, the two get all the girls and have the time of their lives. When Dagen falls for Samantha (Jodan Madley), the daughter of mobster Ventura Ritt (Carlo Rota), things begin to get complicated. While Samantha initially rejects him, believing he is just another club scumbag, she soon starts to fall for him as well. Eventually, Dagen charms Samantha's father, into buying a million dollar home for her. Meanwhile, Kenny loses his job as a day-trader and asks for Dagen's help in getting new investment money. The two decide to target Ventura for the money by gaining his trust in a poker game. They succeed and Kenny's investments pay-off for Ventura in a big way. The victory, however, is short-lived. When Kenny loses Ventura's money and Dagen is caught with a woman from his past, the two must work together to win back the respect of Samantha and her father, or face the consequences.moreless
