Shark! AKA Caine is a 1969 action adventure crime film directed by Samuel Fuller. The film follows an American named Caine (played by Burt Reynolds). Caine has arrived in a small dusty town in Sudan after having escaped government soldiers who had almost trapped him with a truckload of illegal arms. While looking for an escape from the police Caine meets Anna (played by Silvia Pinal) and Dr. Mallare (played by Barry Sullivan). Mallare is an ichthyologist looking for rare fish specimens. Anna convinces Caine to become a deck hand. However it turns out he is to be more than just a deck hand as he must dive to hunt for $2,000,000,00 in gold within shark infested waters. This film is infamous for the fact that one of its stuntmen died when working with what was supposed to be a sedated shark.
