Shell Game is a 1975 comedy about the difficulty of walking the straight and narrow path. Max Castle (John Davidson) is a brash con artist who was caught at his own game. Once he is released from prison and regains his freedom, Max promises to become a better man. He finds work as an assistant to his responsible attorney brother, Stephen (Robert Sampson). Although he thinks this job is his ticket to a respectable and boring life, Max soon learns that trouble has a way of finding him. Due to his checkered past, Max is able to sniff out deception where his more innocent brother cannot. When a client named Constance (Louise Latham) is accused of stealing thousands of dollars, Max instead suspects Constance's boss, Lyle (Jack Kehoe). The problem is that Lyle manages a large charity organization and nobody will listen to Max's worries. To save the charity organization and catch the crook, Max returns to his con man ways one last time.moreless
