Shiloh is a film based on an award-winning book by the same name. A story of true friendship and coming of age begins when Marty (Black Heron) finds a beagle scared and alone outdoors. The beagle turns out to have run away from abusive owner Judd (Scott Wilson) who wants to take it back. In the first instance, Marty's father intervenes to make him give back the dog, but it later runs away again and returns to Marty. Marty knows that the beagle Shiloh is not his, but struggles with the idea that giving him back to an abusive owner would be the "right" thing to do. Determining to save the dog despite the advice of most adults around him and the threats of Judd, Marty hides Shiloh from everyone, determined to keep him this second time. When things start to go downhill, Marty has to decide who he can trust to ask for help taking care of Shiloh.
