Shirley Temple: House of Seven Gables/The Terrible Clockman is a 1961 compilation of two episodes from Shirley Temple's beloved TV series. In these episodes, Temple and a talented cast bring two spooky, atmospheric stories to chilling life. House of the Seven Gables is an interpretation of the classic novel by Nathaniel Hawthorne. Young Phoebe Pyncheon (Shirley Temple) goes to live in New England with two of her cousins, Clifford (Martin Landau) and Hepzibah (Agnes Moorehead), in a beautiful but creepy mansion that is haunted by centuries of mysterious secrets. Although Phoebe brings a breath of fresh air into the old house, new trials and problems soon arise that threaten the Pyncheons and their way of life. The Terrible Clockman is a spine-chilling tale based on the story by writer Jules Verne. A horrifying invention comes to life and stalks the streets of an unsuspecting mountain village, leaving Greande (Shirley Temple) and the other villagers to find a way to end the curse.moreless
