Shottas is a Jamaican crime drama about two long-time friends who begin a partnership in crime as children. The story follows the two shottas from their early days committing light robbery, to their first murder, to the big money extortion and violence that lead to both tremendous wealth and terrible consequences. Ky-Mani Marley plays Biggs and Spragga Benz plays Wayne. Together, the team learn the criminal business growing up on the rough streets of Kingston. As they get older and establish their reputation for cold-blooded violence, they leave Jamaica to establish their presence in Miami, Florida. As the scope of their operation gets bigger, they have to deal with more and more competition from deadly criminals, as well as the dangers of their high-profile crimes. The film's action is backed up by an all-star soundtrack, featuring the music of Damian Marley, Bob Marley, Spragga Benz, and Ky-Mani Marley. Shottas was released on video in 2006 and quickly established an avid cult following for its gritty portrayal of international criminal life.moreless
