Silent Fall is a 1994 mystery film directed by Bruce Beresford. Tim Warden (Ben Faulkner) is nine years old, but he is not like most other children. Tim has autism and experiences the world in a different way. When his parents are brutally murdered, Tim is the only person present. The police realize that Tim holds their best hope of finding out the identity of the murderer. The problem is that Tim refuses to speak up, instead remaining completely silent on the issue of the tragedy. Not even his loving big sister, Sylvie (Liv Tyler), can manage to get the right information from her brother and bring her parents' killer to justice. The police bring in Jake (Richard Dreyfuss), a therapist who has had training as a child psychologist. Jake reluctantly agrees to work with Tim, although Jake hides a painful secret of his own. As he tries to break through Tim's shell and avoid Sylvie's overprotective accusations, Jake wonders if he will ever find the answers he is looking for.moreless
