Silent Hill is a horror film directed by Christophe Gans, adapted from the Silent Hill horror games, which follows Rose Da Silva (Radha Mitchell) as she struggles to help her adopted daughter Sharon (Jodelle Ferland) with her nightmares by visiting the mysteriously mist-covered Silent Hill. When she gets into an accident just as she enters the town's borders, Rose finds her daughter missing. As the town's old secrets are revealed, Rose races to find out what the town means to Sharon and just why ash falls from the sky, a mist keeps the people in fear, mass black outs, and people are taken by a group led by Christabella (Alice Krige) as a bid to stop the Darkness. Adapted from the first game in the series, Silent Hill delves into what it means to become a ghost of yourself in a ghost of a town where nightmares lurk around every corner.
