Silent Light tells the story of Johan (Cornelio Wall Fehr), a Mennonite who is ridden with guilt over his affair with another woman, Marianne (Maria Pankratz). Everyone around him seems to know about his affair, but he struggles with finding peace with it and himself. His wife (Miriam Toews) and good friend (Jacobo Klassen) try to help him through his suffering, but he cannot reconcile with what he has done. His strong faith in God continues to be tested throughout the length of the film. It is a classic struggle of a man and his questionable actions. The movie also explores the relationship people have with God and how it affect their actions. The movie stars Cornelio Wall, Maria Pankratz and Miriam Toews. The film was written and directed by Carlos Reygadas. It was produced by Mantarraya Producciones, No Dream Cinema and Bac Films and was released in October of 2007. It was filmed in Chihuahua, Mexico.
