Silver City is a 1951 western classic full of plenty of action. Reformed thief Larkin Moffatt (Edmond O'Brien) finds a new job working as an assayer in Silver City, a booming mining town. His boss, Charlie Storrs (Richard Arlen), is held hostage by two thieves demanding money. Larkin pursues the thieves and ends up catching them and retrieves the stolen money. However, Larkin keeps the money for himself and opens up his own assay office. Candace Surrency (Yvonne De Carlo) tries to work with Larkin, but he denies her request without explanation. Meanwhile, Charlie Storrs partners with a greedy mine owner named R.R. Jarboe (Barry Fitzgerald) in an attempt to drive Candace out of the area. Things get messy when the various sides bring guns to the table. Will Larkin expose their scheme and help Candace with her dangerous situation? Directed by Byron Haskin, Silver City is a good old western action-packed movie.
