Sitting Pretty is a 1948 comedy, directed by Walter Lang. A babysitter is needed for the King family. Harry King (Robert Young) and Tacey King (Maureen O'Hara) are the parents of three rambunctious young boys, Larry (Larry Olsen), Tony (Anthony Sydes), and Roddy (Roddy McCaskill). Harry and Tacey place an ad in the newspaper for help. They hire the first offer they receive which turns out to be from Lynne Belvedere (Clifton Webb). Mr. Belvedere proves to be a shocking choice for the family as he ends up being a brilliant man with a thousand talents who whips the children and the entire King household into tip-top shape. Trouble begins for Mr. Belvedere and the family when Harry goes out-of-town for a weekend. A snoopy neighbor begins to spread gossip that Mrs. King and Mr. Belvedere are becoming quite an item. Sitting Pretty is a wonderful, warm and witty classic film.
