Sizzle Beach is a 1974 comedy written Craig Kusaba and directed by Richard Brander. Sizzle Beach was originally released in 1974 as Malibu Hot Summer, then released in 1986 as Sizzle Beach to take advantage of Kevin Costner's rising fame. Three young women, Dit (Leslie Brander), Cheryl (Roselyn Royce), and Janice (Terry Congie) move to Malibu from the midwest where they share a beach house. Dit just inherited the house with her cousin, Steve (Robert Acey). The film follows the women and Steve as they take jobs and try to adjust to a more liberal Southern California lifestyle. Ditt falls in love with John Logan (Kevin Costner), a local ranch hand. Steve lusts after Candi (Victoria Taft). Janice tries to break into the music industry. Cheryl becomes a highschool gym teacher. Along the way the trio, and Steve, get involved in a rigged beauty pageant and butts heads with an evil midget businessman.
