Skagerrak is a 2003 movie directed by Søren Kragh-Jacobsen and written by Kragh-Jacobsen and Anders Thomas Jensen. Set in Glasgow, the movie follows two women, who, becoming tired of their lives of partying, arrive in Northern Scotland. Unfortunately, after a night of drinking, they wake to find that all their money has been stolen. Sophie (Bronagh Gallagher) convinces Marie (Iben Hjejle) to act as a surrogate mother to make some money. After some months have passed, Marie finds herself abandoned and alone with a baby on the way, pursued by its parents and desperately wanting to end the pregnancy. In need of help, she begins to search for an ex-boyfriend (Martin Henderson) of Marie. Through a quirk of fate she ends up hiding with three strangers in a garage, hoping that fate will deliver her a solution to her problems. The movie also stars Ewan Bremmer, James Como and Helen Baxendale.
