Skeletons in the Closet is a 2001 creepy psychological thriller about a father and son struggling with dark secrets and mutual mistrust. Widower Will Reid (Treat Williams) lost his wife in a fire a dozen years ago, and raised his 18-year-old son Seth (Jonathan Jackson) on his own. When teenagers begin disappearing from their small town, Will begins to suspect that his son is behind the crimes. Meanwhile, Seth enjoys playing on his father's paranoia by tormenting him as payback for the loss of his mother. He also tries to drive a wedge into his father's new relationship, by convincing Tina Conway (Linda Hamilton) that she is dating a killer. Could Will have raised a serial killer? Was that long ago fire really an accident? Director Wayne Powers maintains a tense, crackling pace in this murderous mystery of mind games. Williams and Jackson both deliver powerful performances that will keep you guessing until the very last scene.
